ERD INGATHERING COLLECTION TODAY-Nets for Life Prevents Malaria - This past Sunday, April 15, envelopes were included in the bulletin for the annual in-gathering for Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD) which will occur today- Sunday, April 22nd. Our collection is dedicated to ERD's NetsforLife which works to save lives by delivering insecticide-treated mosquito nets and training in malaria prevention to communities in 17 African countries. By making your check payable to St. Martin’s Church and designating “ERD – NetsforLife” on the check memo line, we will send one check from our parish designated for this malaria prevention initiative. If you won’t be in attendance on ERD Sunday, you may submit your check to St. Martin’s prior to the collection date using the same notation on the check memo line. A $12 contribution not only a net but also an integrated approach to malaria prevention. Please consider helping our Outreach Commission support this life-saving work.

In recognition of St. Martin’s annual collection for Episcopal Relief & Development (ERD), Reverend Lauren will preach at all three services on Sunday, April 22nd. She has been a missionary in the United States, Honduras, Sudan, and Haiti and served as a Peace Corp volunteer in Kenya.
Sunday’s in-gathering will benefit ERD’s NetsforLife® Inspirational Fund which works to save lives by delivering insecticide-treated mosquito nets and training in malaria prevention to communities in 17 African countries.
NetsforLife (registered program of Episcopal Relief & Disaster-ERD) Our Outreach Committee is promoting this program which has been highly successful in all areas where implemented. ERD's Malaria/NetsforLife® Inspiration Fund helps to combat malaria, a common but preventable disease that kills one million people each year —the vast majority children under age five. This tropical disease is transmitted through the bites of infected mosquitoes. NetsforLife® is a program that empowers communities by providing life-saving prevention training and long-lasting insecticide-treated nets. The NetsforLife® Inspiration Fund invites everyone to join ERD's national campaign to fight malaria! Be on the lookout for how you can purchase a net or part of a net and participate in this important program.
ANNOUNCING THE “GREAT COMMISSION GIVEWAY” -- COME ONE, COME ALL!!
Recently, a local time share remodeled and re-equipped its kitchens. We are the beneficiaries of innumerable, virtually brand-new small kitchen appliances such as toasters and blenders; Revere Ware pots and pans; blocks of kitchen knives; stainless steel flatware and kitchen utensils; plates, cups, saucers and bowls; wine glasses and drinking glasses to name a few—all in excellent condition. Their only stipulation was that St. Martin’s not sell these items, but give them away! Soooo,
COME TO MILES HALL ON SATURDAY, APRIL 14 FROM 9:30 TO NOON
AND PICK UP ANY ITEMS YOU NEED TO EQUP YOUR KITCHEN!!!
This offer will be advertised and we are hoping that people inside and outside of the St. Martin’s community will take advantage of this amazing opportunity! This would be a perfect opportunity to furnish a startup kitchen for newly weds, young people moving into their first place after graduation, for those who cannot afford expensive small appliances or just for people who need to “refresh” their kitchens. Please spread the word. This opportunity giveaway is not limited to St. Martin’s parishioners.
The Grove is looking for an electric stove. If you have one to donate, please contact Deena Walls at the Grove, 757-887-1100.
Thank you.
