2. Jesus’s announcement of the Cross being finishes marks the beginning of an important time period, that time between the revealing of God’s kingdom (through Jesus) and the consummation (bringing to completion, perfection) of all creation. We live in the time in-between. If you don’t already feel like you’re on the way to God bringing you to perfection (or completion, wholeness), how could you gain access to that feeling?
3. Jesus’ work on the Cross is finished, but we live in a time that is not finished. Stanley suggests that we are able to live at peace and be agents of God’s reconciling love, even in a violent world, because “God has given us a way to live without answers.” What gives you strength and hope as you live in the tension of being beloved in a world that is still broken?
